This is the third day in a row that I have received this scam call from a Spoofed/Stolen phone number.
The real owners of this number are an elderly couple who likely do not know their phone number has been spoofed/stolen & used for this scam. This number is in the Greater Cleveland area by the CLE airport.
Unlike usual there was a "real" man talking to the call recipient upon answering. He say he is, I forget a man's first name, then progress to try to con you into think he is with Disney and you are about to be given a resort stay. Usually this scam starts with female robo vpice "Emily". I hung up on him... since I get this Faux Disney Scam call several times a week and have seen the local Cleveland media report on the scam, I can finish this report.
You get a spiel about being given a Disney resort dtay in the name of the Disney corporation. This is NOT the real Disney... Disney is not located in Cleveland, Ohio nor would the real Disney call people using spoofed/stolen numbers.
After the call recipient is talked into this resort stay, if robo voice "Emily" is on, you get a man who can be quite ugly & disrespectful... it is reported some people got F-bombs. He will go on to say one can have this fee for a "small processing fee" for this he will as for eirher a credit or debit card number. Within minutes of being given the card number, the credit card will be maxed off with charges or the debit card used to empty the bank account. After he has this, he has now obtained one's personal identity and one's financial information. It is then a tangled mess to get the cards stopped, money recouped, if possible, and new cards re-issued. Do NOT fall for this confirmed Scam.
This has been reported by local Cleveland media and is a scam running rampant in Cleveland with people falling for the resort stay spiel and out of their money.
