They called saying my insurance benefits mean I qualify for a topical pain cream and other things for migraines and other conditions -- but none of my doctors have ever mentioned this place or these treatments - although I do have a pain doctor for chronic pain, and I also have migraines. He talked a really good game and patiently answered all my questions even though I flat out told him I was suspicious this might be some type of scam, so I played along for a while. Until he started asking for more personal info... He already had my full name and address, as well as my cell # (interesting because I only moved here in March, and I'm VERY careful about giving out my info). When he asked for my insurance info "for verification," I said, "Can't you tell me who it is, and I'll tell you if that's right?" He said, "no," so since I still wasn't convinced he was legit, I lied and said my insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield. When he said, "Yes, that's what I see," I knew either this was not legit. Then I told him, "I lied about having BCBS, so either you're not who you say you are, or someone else gave you bad info," and he IMMEDIATELY hung up on me -- another sign this was some kind of scam. Next, I googled "United pharmacy services" and saw that there is a real company by that name. Lastly, I called my insurance company, who said they don't work with United Pharmacy Services, and that it's possible UPS intended to send me prescriptions of some kind; however, my insurance didn't coordinate this and nothing would be covered from this pharmacy. I still think this was a scam caller, but YMMV. Just be careful and do your homework on UPS first before giving them any of your personal info, ordering prescriptions from them, or expecting your insurance to cover anything sent by UPS.
