Called me using a 231 area code with several numbers. Hung up after I told them I use to work for DOJ and their numbers would be reported. SS notifies by mail never or extremely rarely by phone

Received call from 231-201-8017 today 11/13/18 said that it was an urgent matter that my SSN has been flagged for illegal activity to press "1" to speak with a representative. If I did not do anything that my SSN will be BLOCKED AND FLAGGED FOR SUCH ACTIVITY and ALL ACCOUNTS AND ASSETS WOULD BE FROZEN.- seeing all the comments before mine, obviously this is a scam... I hung up didn't even press "1" then looked the number up on the web to find these other encounters.

just received a recorded call saying that it was Social Secuirty Administration and they were going to suspend my check because there was fraudalent activity on my social security.... Social Security never initiales calls. You either have to call them first or their initial contact is by mail.

Robocall SS scam, I listened for a few minutes then hung up when they told me to press 1 to speak to an officer.

I received a call today saying that my SS# was compromised in the state of TX, the caller provided me with an ID # and all however I looked up the telephone number they called me from and saw it was a scam. They had me for a minute with the entire story about my SS# but when they said that if I put them on hold or bring a 3rd party to the conversation, they will hang up and come and arrest me.. Please be aware of this scam. - Do not provide them any info.
