This is NOT a scam. This is a legit number and if you receive a call from it, call them back.

If you feel unsafe in doing so, call the dept of revenue NC using number on thier official website.

It is not a big deal and something generally small but it is in fact really the NC dept of revenue.

Keep in mind , the IRS and NC dept of revenue are not the same.

I received a call 45 minutes ago from the "Battleboro NC" 252 number. She mentioned she was from IRS re my son's business "because 4th qtr 2015 and 1st qtr 2016 taxes were unpaid". She didn't ask me to identify myself but went ahead an told me the nature of her call and rattled off my "ex's" phone numbers and one of my son's. I goofed and gave her my son's other number.
After looking through these comments & checking out the other number she leaves re the IRS or NCDOR, I discovered it's a total scam. I think the SCAM is to encourage you to use the REVERSE PHONE NUMBER LOOKUP services they are SELLING. If you do that, they would end up having your FINANCIAL INFO for the real scam to begin. This has been going on for several years now. ( Look at the bottom or top of this page and you will see the option to pay for a phone search). GLTA

just got a call now from a lady, the number that she called from is 252-467-9994 at 08:45 pm 31/08/2015 asking me to call the department of revenue at 1877-252-4962 ,i tried to call her back at the same number that she called but it didnt even ring it just gave me busy line or not in use .
