Rec'd call on my CELL PHONE this afternoon. Female voice. At first thought was a real person; however, when I interrupted and asked a question or commented she just continued with her spiel without interruption. Also there were telltale clicks indicating automated changes in recording clips.
It was the "free cruise scam." Said that as I indicated in the past that I liked to travel, I was being considered for a free cruise. As cruise lines often have empty cabins in certain seasons, they will offer these to certain people so that they can spread the word about how "great" the cruise experience was. When got to part where would transfer me to live agent, I said "No thanks" and hung up, while recording continued to babble. At beginning she said "Can you hear me?" I said "yes" automatically before realized this was a possible fraudulent technique to imply I agreed with their scam. CID only showed phone number and from Washington, as obviously number not in my contact list.
