Caller ID said OUT OF AREA - did not leave a message and I NEVER answer unknown numbers

I received 2 calls from this number within 3 minutes of each other. When I answered I immediately heard a "beep" tone that was not a typical phone system beep tone, and then silencefoe about 30 seconds and the line disconnected.
