At 09:27 AM on 5 March 2016, my home phone was called from (according to Caller ID) "Unavailable/1-254-549-2192". I was asleep, so my voice mail picked up and the caller left a message, saying: ""Hi this message is intended to call you back to you. My name is James Caston and I'm calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 254-549-2192. I repeat 254-549-2192. I'd like you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you." The speaker had a slight accent (which I would call Hispanic), and the sound was slightly echoed, as if there were an impedance mismatch between the source of the recorded voice and the phone system. Knowing that this is NOT how a government official would contact a suspect or a witness in a criminal matter, I of course have not called back. An Internet search indicates this number is associated with Breckenridge, Texas, and is in the number block assigned to Broadwing Communications, Llc - Tx This information has been reported to the FTC complaint web site.

Yes....several times...When I called back on Saturday. A woman answered. I asked her when did the Irs call people. She hung up on me. But this James Gaston calls all the time. My husband played along with him. He wanted to know how far from the bank we lived....my husband called him a few names and hung up. Today , he left a message. I called back but the number just rang and rang. He should be stopped. My husband and I are up in age and have no times for this clown.

I got a recorded call and I was annoyed so I decided to call back. The guy on the other line arrogantly and openly admitted that they are scam artists, he said Americans are dumb for falling for it and that the FBI and FCC do nothing to stop them. I was floored.

James Gaston or Jackson with US Treasury, failure to respond to call is intentional avoidance to appear before a grand jury or magistrate and is a felony.

Said his name was James Gaston and told me he was calling from US Treasury and that if I didn't call back that it would be classified as an intentional attempt to avoid an appearance before the magistrate. Said to call back to avoid procecution. Is anybody else getting as tired of getting these calls as I am?

yes. East Indian Bucket shop. I called back a bunch of times. They called me a lier, dropped the calls, wont tell me what they want. Total BS as the US treasury never calls US taxpayers.

Received a call from this number today from "James Gaston" regarding an action from the US Treasury.

Called me too. Threatening message claiming to be US Treasury. These people need to face criminal charges.
