I have received MANY calls on this Scam. This number was phished on someone's landline in the small Central Texas town of Hico.
When the call came thru, I was about to pull out of my parking space. I looked down, didn't recognize the number and let it go to voice mail.
After coming home, I listened to the voice mail which was the same female robo voice calling about my credit card account. The interest can be worked lower "if I would push #9" for a real person. I did not do this but there are some really nasty people who come on line when the prompt is followed. I have no reason to get this call as I choose NOT to use any credit cards.
Cleveland had a reporter who fell for these calls. The man convinced her of the lower % but she had to give her Master Card number for a "small fee". Not thinking she did. They ran up $500 in charges before she could get in touch with the bank. Master Card was able to negate the charges but she then had to go through having to end that account and get a new card account.
THIS IS A SCAM! Once these people get your credit card number, they have both your personal and your financial identities!!!
Called 2 times in a row. Did not leave a message.
