I also got a reply from Craigslist that appears to be some sort of scam... person supposedly named Sophia who wrote:

Total scam...sends a phoney Citibank Bank Check...NOT GOOD!!

This number was from someone who responded to me on craigslist for some furniture. Sounded fishy when the email said she is speech impaired, and so here is her phone number but I can't really call her.
