I would like to hire a hacker to give this caller a Windows "warning message"...and to possibly shut down his phone line if possible...that would be great. =p
(Caller): [in an Indian accent] Hi, I'm calling about warnings we have been receiving from you computer for weeks now.
(Me): Could you tell me the computer's personal name or maybe the model?
(Caller): Sure, you are using a Windows operating system...
(Me): [facepalm] I'm using a Mac... (I won't even go on about how the OS has nothing to do with the personal name or model, or the fact that Windows as an OS is extremely vague)
(Caller): Oh, you're using a MAC is that correct?
(Me): Yeah, sure.
(Caller): Ok, we have been receiving warning messages...
(Me): [Rant #$&$%]...[click]
I get these "Windows Microsoft Tech Dept" calls all the time. Usually it's obviously an accent from India. I ask them, "Since you work for Microsoft, you should surely know what city the headquarters is in. Can you tell me the name of that city?" They never know. LOL (Redmond, Washington) Or I ask them "Who is the CEO of the company and what country is he from?" Ironically, he is from India and his name is Satya Nadella.
Same story. Said his company (Solution for All) was our Windows Service Provider and that they are paid to monitor our computers. Problem was, he knew nothing about our company, the type of computers we use, or which computer he was referring to. He DID want me to let him have remote access to my computer.
He said he was from Windows Micorsoft?) in New York city but has an Indian accent. He said I had some serious and most dangerous virus on my computer. i told him he could be from China for all I know..
