They claim to be doing a donation drive for veterans. I told them I wasn't comfortable giving out information over the phone, and that they could send me something in the mail and I would look over it. They asked me how much I would be willing to commit to, and I said I'd think about it once I got the letter but they got pushy with me. I played along and said $35. Then they transferred me to another agent who started asking me for credit card information. I said I would not like to pay by credit card. I asked for a letter in the mail. They became pushy and started asking for credit card information again. I said that because they called me and I'm not sure who they are, I would prefer to get information in the mail to look it over. They said they needed my address, and at that point I got tired of playing their game and hung up. Even if they are really collecting donations for veterans, which I doubt, they should know better than to call people and trying to get credit card info. This wreaks of a scam.
Made no indication who they were, asked for my brother and told them they had the wrong number, then proceeded to ask for the man of the house.
I was on a cell phone. I did not own a house. I was in a confused stunned silence, and they hung up on me.
they made no claims as to who they were, but still was a spam call.
Have looked up this charity's rating. Very poor. Am blocking them on my lines. Suggest others investigate on their own.
