Supposedly offering lowered interest rate. "Press 1 to speak to a representative." When I get a real person after pressing 1, I ask how to get on their no-call list. They always hang up on me at that point. Today, the person who answered was named "Anna." I did not make notes of the person's name the other two times.

One call resulted in the normal pre recorded message being left on my voicemail. I still have the message and 'Anne' with account services states the federal gov't has just reduced the interest rate to stimulate the economy. I am now eligible for an interest rate as low as 4.99%. I'm asked to "(press 1 now to speak with a representative as my eligibility is about to expire)" The exact words may be a little different but the message insinuates I am eligible for a lower interest rate and my eligibility will soon expire without my action. *note, I used Pacific timezone for the calls listed above as my cell phone area code is in Pacific timezone. On one call I did press 1 and spoke with a female to find out what this was about. She said she was with account services and asked for the amount of debt I had (credit card, vehicle loans I believe) She told me I was not eligible as my debt was under $5,000. She said she's remove my # from the list. This must be a credit counseling company.

Message advertised they could lower my interest rate on my credit cards to a new low rate. I know for a fact this is not coming from my bank.
