Promoted a "lower interest rate" on my "credit card", please press one to continue. (I have one credit card in my name, and the company has me on their do not call list!) I pressed one and was connected to a live person, who hung up on me after I said, "I'm on the do not call list, I want to know how you got my number."

The recording from Account Services said the Federal Reserve just lowered interest rates as part of the stimulus program. I had to act quickly to get the new, lower rates by providing my name, social security number and bank information.

Each time the message advises that they can lower your interest rate. Claim to be affiliated with your credit card companies. I don't owe any credit card companies. Tell you that they just need your credit card information so they can lower your interest rates by working with your creditors and that you must owe at least $5000 in debt.

"card services" or "account services". It is a pre-recorded message at first and then it prompts you to press "1". A live operator comes on the line and asked if I have credit card debt and how much. They tell me they need my account number of any credit card followed by my social security number. If you don't have either of these they hang up on you. They call with many spoofed numbers at all hours. Additionally, I am a Federal Officer with the Department of Homeland Security, a pilot, and I fly troops all over the world in combat zones. My phone is generally used for business. The spoofers call me in the middle of the night around the world and interrupt my sleep before I fly into combat zone--obviously unsafe. A google search of any of the spoofed numbers will indicate hundreds of people are affected by these offenders. Something needs to be done! This has been happening for many months.
