A person by the name of Stanley Dunn from Dispute Resolution Center calls all the time from this area code at my work number telling me that I am going to be arrested at work for this payday loan I took out. I asked him what loan company is suing and he said that there are over 10,000 loan companies and he named off a bunch. I did borrow money from Cash Net for a certain amount and in the process of paying it back. Plus I borrowed from PayDay One and they worked with me and allowed me to pay it back in installments through a collection agency called NCA, she was nice and forthcoming with all the info so I know it was not a scam. These people call with heavy accent, sounds like a call center in the background and when I called he just say's "May I help You" I ask for Stanley Dunn and he gives me this threatning speech about court and arrest and all that. In Texas if you default on a payday loan they can sue you, but usually the amount is so trivial that the expense of court costs and attorney fees outwewighs what you owe. The best advice is to try and get documentation supporting anybody's claim that you owe money..and if you do.. if you are always in communication with them and try hard to pay it back then you will be ok..its when you ignore them that gets you into trouble. Hell even the IRS gives you opportunity after opportunity to resolve past taxes.
They call 5 to 10 times a day! Sometimes a minute apart!
