I just received a phone call from the IRS stating that I owed a payment of 489.00 and I had to pay right now and if i didnt the sheriff would come and arrest me. He said his name was Steven Smith. I couldn't tell anyone about this phonecall they would be arrested also. So what I did was I was on my housephone, so one my cell I called the waltham police and I kept him on the line til they got here and the officer got on the phone and was asking him questions. Of course he was mad and was saying that the sheriff was going to arrest me. And the officer told him not to call back this number and he hasn't I was so upset thank god I called the police I was a nervous wreck. So please dont fall for this scam it is awful that these people prey on the elderly.

I just got a call from the same number with the an "automated" voice telling me they were from the Investigation Department of the IRS. Last time I knew the IRS doesnt call you; they will send you a certified mail first. I am not calling back and I will be blocking this number since it is obviously a scam

They say they are the IRS and ask that you pay using an Apple card and if you don't pay there will be a sheriff to come and arrest you
