I was trying to activate The Bancorp Bank Visa Reward card at the phone number on back of the card: 1-800-953-2076. They said it had expired and to call Direct Star TV that issued the card. I have proof that Direct Star TV overcharged me for services and wouldn't reissue my lost gift card. That same day I received a text message from: 1180@vtext.com that said, "44185xxxxAchieveCardFrozen. Call 503-776-8773 (448858xxxxx AchieveCardFrozen)" 4:40pm, January 13, 2014. When I called the number, the person said, "Your bank card has been deactivated because of a technical error. To activate please select '1' now." I checked online and Achieve Card (also from The Bancorp) is a scam, so I called the number, but didn't select 1, which would have given them permission to retrieve my personal information. I’d never heard of AchieveCard before. Is Bancorp directly or indirectly involved in both scams? I wonder!
