This is still happening in 2016... they have been calling me for 3 weeks and finally i spent some time last night talking to the indian accent guys. I just let them talk and ask them questions i knew from the beginning that this was SCAM but still wanted to make them wast their time for a bit and lead them to believe I was going to get on my computer thru logmein123.com . They ask them who was paying for the "cleanup" and they said that Microsoft already did when I bought my computer and then I said I also had a macbook and same story... that Apple already paid for it.... so I told them that my macbook was already out of the AppleCare service they said that it didn't matter that they just needed to get in my computers and that they will clean it and then tell me what i needed to do... the Microsoft Expert even transfer me to the Apple Expert.... these guys are full of @$#@% the bad thing is that I am sure a lot of people believes them and let them get in... Microsoft and Apple should be able to track these guys down and bring them down!! they call from (310) 659-0786 in California.

Computer scam

Says they are Microsoft...they are not.

Tells me my computer has been hacked.

I am stunned this # isn't in Call Control's community blacklist already - as all of the following info came from Googling the phone # and reading the reports at 800notes.com! This # is being used by scammers who claim they are Microsoft calling because your computer is being hacked right NOW. If you believe them, they will walk you through instructions that will give them complete control over your computer including the mouse, and then demand you pay them $299 to get control over your computer back. Callers are always reported as having Indian accents, and they are very pushy - saying whatever they have to in order to convince you to follow their instructions to "protect" your computer. They might even tell you the $299 is the charge for these "protective" services if you still think they are the "good guys" by then.
