Received calls 2 days in row, same as described. Called Amazon (link on kindle) after the first call. Called the number after the second. They hung up when I questioned a non-toll free number and said I'd already talked to Amazon, instead of giving my email address. Assumed they are looking for credit card, security number from back of card and email information. Similar to phone carrier scam.
On Tuesday, August 27, I received a voicemail from (312) 796-0319. This person claimed to be from “Amazon Support” verifying my order and that $77.90 was being charged to my Visa credit card. If this was correct, I could just hang up and I would receive my order. If I did not make this order, I should call the same phone number, (312) 796-0319. I directly checked my Amazon account and my credit card account to verify no such transaction existed. Any suspicious contacts claiming to be from Amazon should be forwarded or reported to stop-spoofing@amazon.com.
SCAM-- Fake robot call saying that a order of $76 was charge to my account. I do a lot of business with Amazon and they have never contacted me by phone even though some of the purchases have exceeded well over $500. I believe all this call is to get my credit card #.
recv'd call just a few minutes ago. supposedly from amason customer service.SCAM!!! SCAM!!!!!! They don't even come close to the real phone nr for customer service. Just look it up on web site.
This Call Is From A Child Molester That The FBI Obviously Hasn't Caught Up With And Is Disguised As A Mild Mannered Amazon Representative! Please Report This To Your Local Police Dept Right Away!!!!!!!!!!!!
