I got a call from 314-884-3226 yesterday and today. They left me a msg yesterday saying they were advising me that I was being charged with two counts of fraud. The first was for breach of contract and the second was intent to defruad a finanial institution. When I asked about the issue, I was told it was a payday loan taken out May 18th 2012 on line and when the debt was not collected they attempted to get the funds from my checking account which had been closed. She also stated that they sent correspondance to an old address. I advised her that I have never taken out a payday loan and even though you have a correct name of my old bank and a ten year old address, I assure I didn't take out the loan. She said well we can settle this out of court if you would like, you can pay 750 dollars and the charges will be dismissed. I said I am not paying anything at all and i'll let my attny know what is going on and he will contact you. She said ok we will go ahead with the paperwork and send it to you. I said that's fine with me. Funny thing is she never asked for my address. When I called my lawyer and told him about it he told me that it sounds to him like a scam and no one is going to call you and tell you that they are going to press charges on you or sue you. He said you won't know anything until you get the paperwork, He told me that if you get any paperwork bring it to me and I will handle it. So yeah they tried to get me too.
Called and had my number removed from the call list. It took me three times to get someone from this number that leaves me sooooo many messages to even answer their phones & now a few weeks later they are back at it calling again with a different name but same message. So annoying!!!! Want to break their phone.
Same call about "fraud" that I've received from a whole host of other numbers, all of which I immediately block.
I got the same exact phone call from 1-314-884-3226 , with the same exact message. I called my county clerks office, and the state that they called from's clerks office, and my credit monitoring service. They all said nothing on my account and nothing on me, so it has to be a scam.
Called me saying case of fraud using my name and ssn and that a summons would be delivered to me at work or at home.
