Same here but it was an officer Brian wanting my 23 year old son. The caller sounded very Indian. Number came up as a number for the local FBI from where my son is in college. The number left on answering machine was different. We reached a message. I say it is a scam, scam, scam!
This voice mail caller claiming to be from FBI (Officer Anderson) told me to call 315-210-6162. When I called that number, they knew my name based on cell number and started going into some very legal sounding terms, but with a very strong accent I could barley understand. I told them to start over with what exactly they need from me, at that point the Indian sounding gentleman told me not to call back (or at least that's what I thought I heard). I did however try to call back, as a claim to be from the FBI is pretty serious. A new Indian gentleman answered with "Hello," I replied: "I'm calling about a voice mail I received regarding someone from the FBI." The 2nd Indian gentleman said "Ok. So what? You've already called here." This is when I decided to call the actually FBI department in my state, which they told me to report to the Federal Trade Commission. I would imagine this is some type of scam.
Same call today with the same message from Officer Johnson.
I just got a call stating it was the FBI and I needed to call 315-210-6162 back but they also called from a number within my state. It was also hard for the to understand the gentlemen due to his accent. Scam?????
Caller said their name was Officer Smith, said they had a legal case file and she worked with the crime investigation unit. "Called" from the state police number but gave me this number to call back.
