Same experience... the man claimed to be from the Federal Government wanting to give me 14k grant for being a good citizen (changed the amount to 9k in second call). He first tried to extract the bank account information from me. When I refused, he told me that he can send money through Western Union. I told him that I would prefer a check mailed to my address :-) He said that check would require holding the file for 1 week and he cannot do that. I said that if it is not a check, then I am not interested and hung up. But he keeps on calling me several times a day... very irritating.
Same scam... $9000 grant... phishing for info... had my name, wrong address... asked for my age. When I said, "If you are calling from the Gov., then you already know... he responded, "Well then... F-U-C-K-Y-O-U..." and then he said what he had just spelled out and hung up...
Foreign voice. "Free loyalty grant as a reword...only once in a lifetime....collect nine tousand dollar...grab your pen and piece of paper to not it down your call back number and your (sounds like) grandshin farmasin code...OK?" These are NOT typos or spelling errors. This is how she spoke.
