I didn't catch a name, but they told me that may card has been violated,
remove your funds and hold them, until your new card arrives, put the
funds on the new BofA card, and you will be fine thank you and have a nice day. yeah right and I just fall off a JALAPENO truck go find a sucker in your neighborhood bunch of East coast bastards.
I called Bank of America customer service and this IS a scam. I received a message that my debit card information had been compromised and they were cancelling my debit card and issuing a new one. Bank of America stated that they had NOT reissued my card.
This is not a scam. I received a call today and did call the number back and received a message that it was an international B of A number, so I hung up and called a normal B of A number. Once connected I was told that my card had possibly been compromised and a new card was being sent to me. The same message was provided online and when I spoke to a customer service rep.
YES its a scam. The call came from NY but it is a International BOA number. How do these scammers do this. I called my local branch to find this out.
I twice got a call from this number and did not pick up. They left a voicemail message saying that they are from Bank of America and that my debit card may have been compromised. Said they were sending a new one and that my old card will be deactivated, and I need to call to reactivate the account. The only problem is I do not have a BOA account. Most definitely a fraud. I did not call them back but I should just to mess with them.
