Female caller ID'd herself as Cathy (forgot last name).
She said, "Is this L*** ? I answered in the affirmative, "Cathy went on to say, "I'm calling on behalf of the Indiana State Police."

(At first, I wondered how she knew to ask for me by name, but duh, my name is listed in the phone directories, nowadays. For over fifty years, we kept our phone number unlisted and unpublished, but when we switched to ATT broadband, that somehow fell through the cracks.

To continue, I told her that I had just talked to someone who called from her number, yesterday (which was the honest truth. They call almost weekly.) "Cathy" apologized for calling, then hung up.

I am going to contact some SPs I know, and find out if these guys are legitimate, or just common thieves.

Called a few times. No one on other line nor leaves a vm.
