Just got off the phone with these clowns. They gave me this number to call back to give some bogus code to release $9000. He said his name was Michael Smith and had a very thick accent. It was difficult to understand him at times. There was a lot of call center-type noise in the background.
I was told that the federal grant department selected me to get a grant for $9000 and it was free. I also asked where was the place located, the person on the phone said DC. Wasn't sure if it was a scam, so I played along. While I was playing along I was told to give $200 via Money Gram, so I can get the $9000 grant. That was strike one, lied about getting $9000 grant for free. Strike two was the place where I had to write where the $200 was going to, it was going to Pleasanton, California. Also the place where the money was going was to T-Mobile and not Strike three was when the person on the phone told me " Ma'am don't you want the money soon?"
