I too received one of these calls, it was clear they didn't even know which area they were calling, yet they claimed to be collecting for the local police department. They quickly hung up when I began asking questions, it's a definite scam!

Yet another scam artist pretending to raise money for police and fire. Block this garbage! Their shtick is to ask for a random name and then say "well,maybe you can help me, bla,bla,bla.."
