SCAM ALERT: I received a call on my landline from 323.606.7210 today, CID "ACLU" -- pretending to be ACLU fundraising campaign, asking for a $500 donation. Very insistent that I make a donation over the phone, and asking personal info such as cell phone etc. I did not provide any.

I then checked with ACLU SoCal whether the number was legit: it is NOT, it's a scam.

I've been getting a couple of calls per day. My screen says ACLU 323-606-7210. I don't answer.

One soapbox to another: The top priority in this country needs to be stopping decades of the abusive application of the state secrets privilege doctrine and related abuses of power. As a first step we need to get 2012's H.R. 5956 or its equivalent passed. See: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/06/state-secrets-revamp/
