I got a call reporting I had committed tax fraud and they wanted my personal information
I get a robot call, claiming to be from the IRS, saying to call back. When I call back, the number is busy. Since when is the IRS in California lol
Automated voice said to call immediately to avoid further action from IRS
Female robot voice saying it's the IRS and before action is taken call back immediately.
Call from 323-729-3103. It's a scam posing as the IRS. Foreign speaking people saying the call is being recorded. They give you two options: 1) Hire an attorney to fight the lawsuit or 2) Pay the restitution of several thousand dollars. They will instruct you to go to a CVS or Rite Aid and buy gift cards and give them the info on the card to drain the gift cards. How do people fall for this? It was fun playing along but I did file this with the proper authorities.
