Rachel Card Holder Services
Card Services (Cardholder services?)
I too got this call, but thankfully I didn't actually pick up and answer it. Sounds like a nightmare in the making from others I've read about who did answer. So I came up with my own game plan and thought I'd share....
Just a thought as to how to beat them:
program this number [1-347-263-2551] into your phones under the name SCAMMERS so you won't accidentally answer it (..that's what I'm going to do). Since the 'bot doesn't seem to like answering machines, then maybe that's the way to get them to stop calling us. Their automated system (I call them 'bots, short for robots) hung up when my machine answered! Those 'bots record the time humans pick up which tells their 'operators' that the number is 'live', so maybe the only way to beat them is by programming in their number so we aren't so easily duped! Can't hut to try- - - - hope this idea was helpful.
These are phishing calls. Mine came from a cell phone number. Why do people answer calls from numbers they don't recognize? Let it go to voice mail and check it later. If you answer or call back you are only proving that an individual will answer at your number. Same goes for "unsubscribing" from email lists. Sending it only confirms it is a valid email address.
When these people call me, they sometimes use a local phone number. Once it was someone I knew, but it was this card service. I called the person who number it was and notified them, they were very unset by this. I also called the phone company and they said this has been happening and there is nothing they can do about it. What else is new?
Annoying calls saying I can get a better interest rate on my credit card. I DO NOT have a credit card.
