I received the prerecorded message, and figured what the heck, I'll press 9 and see if I can get a real person who will tell me who this outfit is and how to get off their list. Pressed 9, got a woman, and as soon as I requested that my number be removed, she hung up on me!
I just received a call from this number at 11:43am 03/23/11. The man identified himself only as calling from "account services" even after I repeatedly asked for the company that they were calling for as I have a lot of accounts. He was VERY RUDE and was absolutely reading from a script as he said, "now let's see here, oh yeah - 'Are you calling about the offer to reduce your credit card rate'". I told him that I was responding to the call that I had gotten from them. He got frustrated and repeated his line. I repeated what I said and continued to ask him what company he was calling from. Then he said, "We're very busy here, so I am going to set you up for a lot more phone calls." Then he hung up on me.
I forgot to mention that the phone call I got started out with a pre-recorded message saying that they had a limited time offer to lower my rate on my card. I had missed the company's name so I pressed "1" as instructed to get more details. That's when I got Rude Man.
Prerecorded call from "Rachel at cardholder services". I have received 7 - 8 of these calls in the past week from 2 different wireless numbers (same recording, however). Recording states they would like to lower my interest rates on my credit card.
