Blah blah blah threatening arrest, fuck off
Just got a call from that same number. The lady had a middle eastern accent, but said her name was Alyssa Brown. Since we got disconnected, she left the following voice mail:
"This message is for [my name]. My name is Alyssa Brown calling you from the investigation department of the Internal Revenue Service. A warrant has been issued against your name and your physical address is under federal investigation. Please get back to me as soon as possible on my department number, which is 347-298-5178. I repeat, it's 347-295-5178. If you fail to get back to us in the next couple of hours, you will be forwarded to your local police department, and you will be arrested. Thank you."
Upon calling her back, a man took my name and told me she'd call me right back. She did, and very aggressively told me they'd sent me two notices back in February (today is May 6, 2016). Since I only filed my taxes this year in April, I asked her what the notices were about. She told me her job was only to notify. She said they'd resend the notices by Tuesday or Thursday (today is Friday), and she'd be calling back on Tuesday.
Trust no one Sheryl Park called from that number claiming to be from the IRS saying I have an arrest warrant due to tax evasion. Their trick was to instill fear to eventually get you to give them money within the hour to "help your case". during the entire call they didn't ask for financial or personal information, they had my full name and even had an "officer" Brain Johnson call me from a 911 number to say he received a warrant for my arrest..all to make it seem very real and believable. Giveaways; they all had american names, but Indian accents. They claim to have sent a letter with a warning which I never received. The final one was when they told me to take off work to go to the bank, get the money cash and meet with them at my home. Best to hang up and stop answering if they call back. The IRS would never call and demand you to pay up right away.
I got the same BS call today!
Ester Rhodes call my son gave him case #. claimed he owed them $8k and there was a warrant with the "local" police agency. Didn't even know what city he lived in.
