I received a threatening message from the 'legal Dept of ACS' today on my work phone and on my cell. My son called to tell me he had received a very odd and scary voice msg on his phone #. My ex-husband forwarded to me a very threatening voice msg that he also rec'd today - about me and the fraud I was involved in and the 3 things I had defaulted on. NO SUCH THING EVER HAPPENEd. Before I realized what was going on, I returned their call. I asked for james Johnson, the person who left the threatening messages to all 3 of us... I was given to James Johnson, whom I could barely understand... very thick Indian accent. Each time I asked him to slow down and repeat himself he talked louder and faster and would never stop. Finally I yelled 'STOP! and I think it startled him. He shut up for a second, long enough to finally tell me that I had taken out an internet payday cash loan and had not paid. I've never done this in my entire life. They threatened, saying they know where i live, where I work, etc and that the next call will be to my employer... I was so upset... I called Clark Howard and talked to his staff. They told me to immediately check my credit report, lock it down (freeze it and put a fraud alert on it), which I did, read the info at ftc.com (federal trade commission). If they call me back, I will be ready for them. Go to the Clark Howard site and get the 'drop dea' letter in case they send you something. I went to the police station to file a police report and was told that no crime had actually been committed, as horrible as it is and that they get these calls every single day.... Lock down your credit report and keep your eyes open. Be careful what you make available on the internet and hold your breath!!!'

This number is definitely a scam. I called back pretending to be jesse jenkins a private investigator and I was cursed out when I asked for paper work to be faxed to my office. The representative started laughing and saying curse words in bad english. they told me we have your information__________ ha ha ha.

we keep getting the same calls from these people with heavy accents, looking for my former boss, who I expect owes people money.. 347-457-3020 when you call back they answer, say nothing and hang up.. Next time we're telling them to lose this number and we'll calling the police. We've already tried to tell the more intelligent english speaking person that the person they want doesn't work here anymore, but apparently they don't comprehend much!!

I have been recieving multiple calls from this number at all hours of the day and night. A man named Alex Brown along with Douglas Brown and another name all called from this number. I was told I have a lawsuit from 3 companies against me for payday loans. This is a SCAM!!! They call themselves ACS. Now I know the names are fake because they have heavy indian accents. WTF??? I returned a call today and asked for ALEX BROWN (who left a subtle threat on my voicemail). The man that answered said he was HER supervisor (mind you it was a man that left the VM) I asked who they were and he said a LAW FIRM. I said ok and what is the LAW FIRMS name? He kept talking over me asking for my telephone number. When I continued to ask questions he yelled and I asked why he was yelling? Then he hung up... Do not fall for this mess!

I received a call from on Officer Robert Jones and he left the last four digits of my ss# on my voice mail. I called back and asked what this was about and he said I took out a payday loan in 2010. I asked him to send me proof and he said he would email it to me tomorrow. I said I want a hard copy. He said he would mail it and I would have it in my mailbox tomorrow. I asked him if he has proof why not just fax it to me. He refused. First of all, you cannot leave a ss# on a voice mail (violation of FDCPA). Secondly, you cannot call from a blocked number or an unknown number (also violation of FDCPA). This is truly a scam and I have put a fraud alert on my credit report to avoid any problems. They will also tell you that there is pending legal action, which is not true, because they have to notify you of any pending legal action.
