Same foreign accent male left message on my voice mail. I never called it back. I usually never answer long distance calls. If it is someone I know I call them back.
this is a scam number claiming u owe them money or they will put u in jail, has been reported to BBB also
I got a few messages left on my home phone recorder and on my cell phone. Not sure how they got both numbers, but the message stated that his name was Officer Eric Brown (he sounded like he was from the middle east). He stated he was from the Federal Criminal Investigation Department. He left a phone number (which does not exist and it's the same one 347-566-2012). I was concerned because we had no idea what it was about, but I'm glad I found this link on here.
I just received a phone call from the same number this morning. The gentleman I spoke with said his name was Officer Eric Brown of the Fraud Team Investigation unit. He recited a series of what he said were FCC violations. "Officer Brown" claimed that I had taken out an online loan at the end of 2009 for $300 and that the loan had not been repaid. He stated that if I would send his company $425, the loan would be settled. If I refused to send the money my case #CA1478974 would be transferred to the local court house and I would be arrested. I have never taken out a loan from the company he claimed to represent. I told Mr. Brown that I would be contacting my local police department and an attorney and he hung up. I am concerned because this man knew my address and phone number. I will be contacting my local police department to file a complaint.
My husband received a call at his work asking for me and would only tell him that I needed to call this number back immediatley as it was a federal crime investigation. I called and the first time, the man said hello, then hung up, so I calledagain and the man said his name was Officer Jack Anderson, but his accent told me otherwise. He told me an internet paid loan company named Fast Cash International had a federal lawsuit against me for a loan I never received, gave me my SSN, and address and said we could settle out of court or in court. I told him I had to call him back and he said it must be taken care of today. After I hung up, I called the police and filed a complaint.
