I got the same phone call. Same number. I requested paper work and they said they sent it to my twice and they can't resend any notice. They threaten to freeze my bank account and Dmv, as well as have a warrant for my arrest. But I could resolve this by paying them $1100. So I told them I'm call my lawyer and he'll personally contact them. The "IRS agent" got upset so I hanged up the phone. This is bullshit.

Just got a call from 360-244-4273. Caller ID was from Long Beach WA. An automated message said it was from the IRS and to return the call as this was my "final notice" before the IRS filed a lawsuit against me.

I knew the call was bogus because (1) the IRS doesn't do business this way (and I've had a LOT of experience with them) and (2) the call came at 10am eastern. NO federal employee is going to be working in WA at 7am.

But just for grins and giggles, I called them back. A heavily accented man answered "IRS". I said "just to clarify, is this the United States Internal Revenue Service?" He said yes and asked me "Is this (my brother's name)? Just wait one moment while I pull up your file." After about a minute, with him checking two or three times if I was still on the line, the phone disconnected. Well, I might be the blame for that because I MIGHT have said something like "I'll crawl up this phone line and twist your scrawny neck" and "I have dear friends in WA that will be happy to shoot off both of your kneecaps". But who can tell?

I've tried calling them back, but it seems that my number is now blocked. I've tried twice to call them from from my cell and they answer but just hang up. I was trying to get to the bottom line of their scheme but my temper seems to have failed me. The person they were calling for was my brother, who is both mentally and physically "challenged". I was impersonating him. While I rarely answer his phone, this call just stank from the first ring, so I picked it up. Are they targeting the disabled?
