They are political survey takers trying to solicit votes via a prerecorded message. The manner in which they tell consumers they can unsubscribe does not work.

Our phone ID said "WASHINGTON". RECORDED MESSAGE STARTED WITH LIKE PRESIDENT OBAMA AND WE WERE ON A LIST TO OWE BACK TAXES AND I HUNG UP. I CALLED THEIR NUMBER AND THEY SAID THAT IF WE WERE NOT ON A STATE OR FEDERAL LIST TO OWE BACK TAXES, TO PRESS 9 TO GET OFF THEIR LIST.

IT SOUNDED LIKE A MESSAGE TO EVERYONE FROM REPUBLICANS TRYING TO MAKE PEOPLE AFRAID OF OUR PRESIDENT. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE DIRTY TRICKS REPUBLICANS ARE KNOW FOR.
