As you all know 100’s of us (maybe thousands?) have gotten a call from Racheal at Card Member Services asking us to press one if we are wanting to lower our credit card rates. Do not take them up at their offer. I monitor 10 “who is calling me” type of websites. Several people on those sites have been scammed out of there hard earned money. Below is a partial list of numbers associated with calls from Card Member services. (My thanks to Ronin and others)

Many believe these calls are placed through a VOIP service which allow the company to place calls using a fictitious phone number. The number I have been getting calls from actually belongs to a 62 year old lady in Baltimore (nice lady!),

As well as First USA in Wilmington Delaware.
I have spoken to executives in most of these companies as well as reviewing their copany profiles and believe them to be legitimate. Like others I strongly recommend that we all file frequent complaints with the FTC, FCC, DNC and our State attorney general’s office. Websites addresses are given below. If this company is using a voip system then it will take someone with greater resources than us private citizens to address this matter.

One of many numbers they use. I can not find a method of tracing them or a true public resource that would actually do something about tnem and shut them down. Their actions are without any human regard and they deserve only shame.

Second call from them in past two weeks.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: There is someone out there attempting to falsely link our company, Marketing Source One to these calls. Let me state this emphatically and unequivocally; Marketing Source One is in no way associated with this phone number. This misguided individual posts under the monikers. "Bull", "Lee" & "ws". We don't understand why this individual is attempting to smear our company's good name by blatantly fabricating this false, negative information. We intend to vigorously pursue each of these libelous postings (through all available legal means and regulatory channels) including all individuals (who opt to buy into these falsehoods and perpetuate this individual's smear campaign and) falsely accuse our company of actions for which we have absolutely no association or responsibility whatsoever. Cease and desist from making these libelous postings.

When I ask them to remove my phone number they hang up on me immediately.

This is a phishing scam. Report these people immediately to your local district attorney and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). What they are doing is highly illegal and a violation of several state and federal laws. Since we can't shoot them, sending them to jail would be the next best thing. If they call and you speak with them, do NOT give them any personal information, but milk them for everything you can find out about them. Then report it immediately. These crooks move quickly and often. I've gotten calls from Seattle, New York, Detroit and now St. Louis.
