In exchange for a survey, free vacation provided by the benefactor, not named, but taxes and gratuities apply. All references are vague. I receive calls with this taped message frequently, with different numbers and caller ID info.

I never answer a call from out of state, or even out of town if I don't recognize the number, but since VW will only let you block five calls for free (blocking more costs you $5 a month - no thanks), and since scammers just get a new number, I have taken to saving them in my contact list under "Do Not Answer" which has a silent ring tone. I currently have nineteen numbers stored on that contact, and I add a new one just about every day. Have had six calls in the past week, several from this area code, and of course, I'm on the DNC list. Like restraining orders, the DNC list only works on companies you probably didn't need to worry about in the first place. Scammers couldn't care less about the law - they're purposely breaking it in the first place. The DNC list is a joke to them. The best I think I can hope for is that the calls will subside/end after the election in November, or possibly, the rapture. I doubt much else will stop them.

I hope more people check into the fact WHO stands to profit most off those that get on the internet and look up these numbers that call.So many calls and no one answers ?

Once one goes and looks the number up again and again with different numbers changing all the time it may appear someone could possibly be a way to herd people like cattle to these sites that make monies off your ad clicks and the use of your IPO address that now follows your movements with tracking cookies.

Just think of the traffic this type of search generates!

You will notice the more this technique is used the more companies you see come online that offer information in your search for unkown numbers.

Very profitable way some companies can generate a whole hell of alot of revenue.

Eventually this if it is a scam is getting closer to being revealed.

My husband got this recorded political poll, and answered the questions. He was offered a "free" trip to the Bahamas and when he asked about it, the gal was giving the long speil about how wonderful the 2-DAY trip was and all the stuff you could do, and when he said he wanted to talk to his wife about it when she got home before he put down a deposit, they adamantly refused to let him do so. It was RIGHT THEN or NEVER. So of course, he said NEVER and hung up. He'd thought they would call back but, of course, they didn't. They just wanted to get his money and give him nothing. And probably his credit card info. HANG UP ON THEM! "Cynthia Brown" was the name the caller gave.

The messages stated that if I participated in their, "[short 30 second survey I'd receive a free 2 day cruise for 2 people to the Bahamas courtesy of one of our supporters. Gratuities and a small port tax will apply.]"

Promis of a cruis if I participate in a survey

They said that if I did the 30 second survey I'd get a free cruise to the Bahamas with the payment of port and other fees. This is clearly a poorly-disguised sales pitch/scam.
