Interesting...received a call today from 401-583-4565 (RI, USA), immediately blocked it. Then a little over an hour later received a call from 320-264-8985 (Kerkhoven, MN) (a number that appears in this report being used by these same scammers) and immediately blocked it. What next? This is ridiculous!!! This just started today 4/17/2015. I have no idea where they got my cell# from. I have been getting a lot of phone calls on my landline for the past month every night at about 7 p.m. and I suspect it is the same scam artists. I don't have caller ID, but screen all calls through my answering machine (family and friends know my screening process). Telemarketers don't, so...they usually hang up, which in this case has been happening. My husband has picked up a couple of times and tried to engage a conversation, he hears noise like someone is on the line, but nobody talks so he hangs up.
credit card scam
I think your the caller, and are trying to solicit my business!
Automated robocall, claiming nothing wrong with my credit card, but this is "last chance" to lower interest rate. Probable scam, especially since they can't be bothered to filter against the national do not call list.
Got another phone call (12:12pm) from an out-of-state number that I didn't "know" or recognize, that I have marked in my contact list as a "Telemarketer" with a silent ringtone. (This number is #92 of 93 so marked.)
(Does this mean that they are still involved in Interstate Fraud?)
Once again, they of course, left no message.
As always (especially with numbers marked as "Telemarketer"), I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
I'm still on the National Do-Not-Call List, and have been for over a couple of years now.
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)
Once again, I'm going to
https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us
AND to
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and see if that can get the government to work for me, and stop these calls.
(Yes, I will once again go through all those steps.) [I have also bookmarked these URL's.]
We should all pile on. (I certainly am.)
