Promises a free home security system.
I receive a call from "Home Survey" every other day (I see it on the caller ID list). Finally today I was home and answered the call (thinking it was a survey....and wanting to contribute). It turned out to be an automated call from a security company "AE security or A&E Security". The automated call stated that "THERE HAS BEEN A CRIME INCREASE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD...AND YOU WERE REFERED TO US BY ONE OF YOUR NEIGHBORS..." I am a police officer and am not aware of any "crime increases" in my neighborhood....the automated system said "press 1 if you are interested in a free security system"...I pressed "1". The operator came on and said "AE Security...Are you interested in a free security system?"...I replied "yes, can you tell me what geographical area you are calling?" They just hung up. Soooo...I decided to find them and call back. I found "A&E Security" in Maryland and "AE Security" in Canada. I called AE in Canada and asked if they could come to my house and give me an estimate....the operator began asking questions and once she found out I was in the U.S.A....she promptly said "I'm sorry sir...we do no provide services in the U.S... I then called A&E Security (Maryland) to see if they were the company who called. The "owner" swore that he didn't call...nor does he have any companies who call to do sales. My advice...answer the phone, press "1", get as much info as you can and tell the world about their shaddy practice.
