They stated the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and I had to call back immediately. When I called a person from a very loud India call center answered immediately. I asked for his badge number and he gave me random letters and numbers. I asked where he was located. He said "right now we are in Washington DC." like the IRS is only there and going to move??? I asked him again if he was the IRS. He acted like he couldn't hear me. asked if I could hear him. I did not say yes. I asked again what company he was with. He hung up.
I do not believe this is the IRS. I have previously called the IRS and never had an immediate answer. Also, when they do answer they give their name and ID number
Stated they were from the IRS and I owed a debt. Audit conducted for years 2012-2016. Reviewing my bank accounts and the reported income there is a difference which could be through negligence or a miscalculation. They would place a lien on my home, car, bank accounts, 401K if I did not resolve. I needed to make a decision immediately. Do not hang up until a transaction number was given. No personal information was given but had my address. To pay, I needed to go to a courthouse in DC, have CASH and make a payment through an electronic tax payment. Asked if I wanted to have this a public or private record. I told him public because at this point, I felt this was a SCAM. I continued to call Paul out as a scammer. Since I was going public with this, he asked for my attorney, which I gave him a name and number. I believe he ultimately unhung up on me. Once this call ended, I immediately called my attorney. He said he felt it was a scam and the IRS would not every call. They will mail a notice. Beware, because they had me going for a while.
Keeps calling from different numbers
