sales call looking for homes in the area for a free security system

Again.

I've contacted the Montana State Government, The No Call List, The Federal Trade Commission, etc...and thus far nothing has happened to inhibit getting calls from these cowards! In fact the calls have gone from once a day to multiple calls hourly. At&t suggests I either change my number (hello, paying an inordinately large fee to do so), not to mention an arduous inconvienience to me to update personally & professionally. OR I can (paying a fee per line) get their blocking 30 numbers option. Hello? How is that going to stop someone from calling? They'll just call from another number & I'll be out a useless monthly fee. Essentially, I was told to just live with it.

They don't leave a voice mail, if you answer they falsely solicit as magazine people, credit card people, security people, debt collectors, etc...If you call back you get an automated message which alerts you that you can select 1 to be placed on an internal no call list & you must wait 72 hours for it to take effect. Yeah, right! They call more now than before, hourly. As mentioned I've filed multiple complaints with the usual channels & they pass the buck of blame from one to another, yet no one is actually stopping these people. I get that Pacific Telecom Communications Group may have sold this number to someone, but they should KNOW & or do something about the person BREAKING THE LAW with the number or else be accountable themselves!

HERE IS THE FIX; I have rec'd numerous calls from this number in the last 10 days. Haven't answered until today. They want to give you a free wireless home security system in return for them placing a sign in your front yard. I told them I already had a security system consisting of a large dog and a .357 magnum. I also asked to be removed from their calling list.

I contacted the Montana State Attorney General's office as Area code 406 is listed as Forsyth, Montana. I rec'd a quick reply from the Montana AG's office which follows, with info that the calls actually come from Los Angeles, Ca. Scroll down to see company name, address, etc. The caller on my line was named Tom. Use this info to register your complaints with the DO Not Call
Registry and the Fed. Trade Commission. Good Luck

Thank you for your information.  Over time, we have received several complaints like yours.  Upon investigation, we have found that these 406 area code numbers belong to an unknown out-of-state company that purchased/leased the Montana phone number from a telemarketing company that  purchased/leased it from a Los Angeles based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) named Pacific Telecom.  The calls are not coming from Montana.  Please see the three tiered call sequence below:

1. Pacific Telecom -

3. The unknown out-of-state company which called you from (406) 351-4361
We are advising consumers to file complaints against the known entity in this scheme, Pacific Telecom.

Calls almost every day. No one is there when I answer. tried calling the number back and get a recording that says if you do not wish to have a call back press one. makes no difference they keep calling.

Has called repeatly today and my phone is on the no call list.

This number has called repeatedly on my DO NOT CALL LISTED cell phone. Bunch of worthless Bast**ds.

calls multiple times. says they want to sell you home security

Even filed complaint w/ FTC but still getting calls. FTC needs to fine this company! My # is on the "Do not call list" too.

calls my phone 5 times in one day. never leaves a message. really annoying!

Constantly receive calls from this number - when I pick up no response. When I call back clicks off.

Received 3 calls yesterday and 4 calls today. Each call within hours of the last. No message and when I picked up once it was disconnected. When you call back there is an automated message with no business name or option to speak with someone.
