I got a call that showed as being from Illinois, then, as I was looking at my phone, it changed to Orange Lake with a different phone number. They guy addressed my by name and said he was calling from IHG. He said that apparently, Staybridge Suites had been my hotel of choice for quite some time, and wanted to ask me a few questions about my last stay. I replied, "I use Staybridge, Candlewood, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express for the most part, depending on rates and location. Since I haven't traveled much at all in the last two years, I don't recall staying at a Staybridge during that period of time." He said, "My records show that you checked out of the Staybridge on February 26, 2018." I asked him the location. He said, "I don't have that info available." I replied, I might have been making a personal run in that time frame, but that wasn't me. I'll check with my wife." As I called out to my wife to ask her, he hung up.
Upon checking my calendar and credit cad transactions, I find that I did check out of a hotel on the morning of February 26, 2018. It was not a Staybridge Suites. I called the number back, and it was a blind answer with no indication of who that end was.
1. He didn't know WHERE I stayed. IHG would have that info right in front of them. How can you review a hotel if you don't know which one it is?
2. He hung up on me.
Scammer. B.S. Period.
