I GOT AN AUTOMATED PHONE CALL FROM THEM AS WELL BUT HAVEN'T CALLED THEM BACK. SOUNDS PRETTY RIDIUCLOUS.

SSN Scam. I was told that I was speaking with Social Security Officer Richard Weber, working for the Investigation department of the SSA. He was the person that answered the call, and he just happened to be the right person for me to talk with? He said, his Employee ID was NC9825 and mentioned there was an "Arrest of Warrant ID", that local police would call me within 5-10 minutes and take me into custody for the next 24-48 hours.

The reason? He mentioned that there was an abandoned car, rented under my SSN, found in Texas. Inside the car the law enforcement officers found "blood, 22 pounds of cocaine, and several documents". Those documents had two addresses on them. They raided one address, but it was abandoned. At the location that was raided, they found paperwork with over 20 bank accounts, opened against my SSN, which were being used for money laundering. This is why they were "Cancelling" my SSN.

When I started asking him questions, he quickly reminded me that local law enforcement would be calling me then would come by to pick me up in the next 5-10 minutes, then hung up.

How absurd.
