They called me an hour ago. The woman said her name is Peda Ope and that she works for Amazon. She said they are looking for "associates" (not affiliates). I asked the difference. She gave me some circular vague explanation that didn't make sense. She said that for a nominal fee (i.e. 499/599) they would set up a web site for me that handled everything I needed to earn commissions representing Amazon products. The conversation went on for about 20 minutes where she kept trying to get me to give her a credit card number. I wouldn't do it. I asked for a call-back number where they could verify who she is. She gave me 877-754-5167. When I called that number a woman answered and said that I had reached Amazon Web Designs. I asked if she worked for Amazon. She said yes. So I called Amazon. The Customer Service representative was not aware of this 'offer' from Amazon, didn't recognize Peda, didn't recognize the phone numbers and took a report for their Investigations group. Guess I will hear something from Amazon tomorrow...
Audrey called me 11 times this week. I told her I was not interested in web design I'm a nurse I don't need a website. I asked her not to call anymore. She said to bad I'm going to call until you sign up for our service. I told her to stop harassing me. I asked for the company "web design" main line... They don't have one.. Audrey doesn't have a manger or associates number either. She said she got my info from Amazon so I called Amazon and they said they are NOT affiliated with them and they are probably a scam. I can't wait for them to call back I have dug into this and got some info. MCI WorldCom communication inc provide them with their number , which if you call it ... Its of course out of service .. I'll be calling MCI next.
Someone called claiming to be from Amazon.com. I suggested I would be interested in starting a home online bussines through a PCH games pop up ad. What a mistake! When
didn`t respond in a timely manner he hung up.
