Scam.....criminals. Don't even bother with them and block them.
Unknow auto call. Leaves a 866 number on message. Does not say who message is for. They say its a personal matter but wont twll you what it is concerning. Claims a payday loan has out standing balance from 8 years ago. Will not send information as what its reguarding. Want you to give them you social for varification and bank account information.
I do not know the specifics on other calls, but I got one of these for a friend. I haven't gone into the details, but I suspect that they are ones who buy debts for 25 CENTS per 100 DOLLARS. Yup, you heard it right 0.25%, commonly known as 25 basis points. VERY SMALL. Their function is to make you acknowledge the (most likely out of date) debt so that the statue of limitations clock will START again. If you send them ANY money they can start to be more aggressive in collections. The best thing to do is first ask what the amount is, and when the debt was incurred. If it is outside of the statue of limitations (2-3 years typically), tell them "good luck" and say goodbye! If you send them money, they are ahead of the game, so don't make it worth their while. It only adds credence to their claims, and may hurt you in the long run!
This is a TOTAL SCAM!! They called my number looking for my Mom but didn't want to reveal who they exactly were working for. When I asked, the person hung up. I called again to speak to someone about this, and the woman on the phone was mumbling and being rude. When I said this was poor customer service, she started to act defensive/ghetto/unprofessional which led me to believe that i was totally right about it being a scam. Then I googled the number and found this message board - I was right.
GLOBAL SERVICE GROUP IS A SCAM! With a bunch of losers working for them!
They call themselves global collections after several calls of trying to confirm it is you then when you call them back it goes straight to music then they answer saying your name not theirs. My first clue was when they read back my yahoo email that I have not used in about ten years. I have never taken a pay day loan in my life much less 2013 they try to pull as much of your info before they will even explain why they are harassing you then they tell you they you are in default on a loan and will be taken to court but they are there to help you avoid having to go to court if you make an attempt to rectify the matter with them by paying this so called debt.. Total extortion!! They are getting peoples information of Yahoo and other untouched emails..
