I received this call twice on separate phone lines, I googled the number and of course its a scam - these people are so stupid because there has been enough media attention stating the IRS will NEVER contact you by email, phone etc. only through a letter (and even a letter I would check out) I was worried at first but then just realized in todays society there are lots of A-holes out there who they think MAY fall for this scam - not to worry folks its only a scam and DUMB scammers to boot. Get a real job you stupid people - work for a living like most of the population instead of trying to rip off hard working citizens.
I received this call today Jan.30th 2015 never called back.
A "Julie Smith" also called me on Jan 17. I agree with comment from "Mel" above. If it was a valid concern, they'd send it to me in writing. Fortunately I did not answer the call and let it go to voice mail.
My wife called me in a panic due to a message that was left by some jackass called Julie Smith. I put the number in Google and hit search and this page came up. It is obviously a scam as the IRS doesn't call you... they typically send certified mail. People like this piss me off and I hope the Gov't does something to those who impersonate a federal agency.
I received this call today, 1/28/2015. The robot caller stated they were Julie Smith calling from the IRS and that either I, or my criminal attorney must call her back today. The caller never stated my name. Also to make sure to call back before they take action against me.
Caller: Julie Smith from the IRS
