This person also called my folks from another spoofed number
Appears to be a, possibly spoofed, spam number.
I got a call late evening on January 26, didn't answer. Moments later, I blocked my number in order to call it to see who the number belonged to. When I did, I got a recorded message saying the number was not in service.
About two hours later, nearly midnight, I got same caller, This time instead of letting it go to VM, I sent an autotext mid-ring, mostly to see the response, while knowing there was something bogus about it. I guess this person wasn't banking on a quick response, bit seemed to have a ready remedy. So seconds later, I got a VM voice to text VM message signifying that this person left a voice message.
Then my voice-to-text Voice Mail message service came through my text with an SMS identifying the caller as 'Steve', asking why I called (obviously I did not) and giving restating the number but omitting the last two digits. However, when I dialed my VM to check for 'Steve's' voice message, there was no message at all from this person/number. In fact, my VM was completely empty.
Now, this morning, I tried calling the number at 9:14am, January 27, again from my blocked handset, recording the call, and a soft groggy high-voice woman picked up. I hung up immediately. It seemed as if it was picked from a landline, possibly forwarded or originally spoofed landline number.
Rechecked my VM again, still no voice message from this supposed 'Steve'.
This is possibly phishing spam, or prank and/or spoofed caller.
