Called to verify legitimacy of number, but received a new message instead of This is another one of the "Card Services" scams. To verify the number, I called them back while blocking my own number. I received the message to: "Press 1 if you want to speak to one of our agents. Press 2 if you want to be placed on on our Do Not Call List". I tested this option and was told that my number was successfully removed. However, since I blocked my number, there would not have been a way for them to recognize my number in order to remove it from their calling list or supposed "do not call list". I believe this new fake outgoing message tactic is a way to 1) circumvent the Federal government's regulations and 2) to lull or appease the recipients/victims of the call into thinking they are being removed, when all it does is verify the number for future calls from other spoofed numbers.
