Offering "$3,000 in saving certificates" for groceries plus a "free emergency alert bracelet or necklace"--I have received dozens of variations on this pitch from the same phone number, including one pitch purportedly from "John in the shipping dept." who wants me to call to schedule my "free emergency alert system" because so many older people need this system. These calls clearly target seniors, whether they are on the do-not-call list or not. Both 425-873-2847 and 425-873-3849 call with the same spiel.
Personal security device; i.e. Lifelock (not completely sure of product/company name). Stated item is being shipped; purchased for us by someone else. Over 5 calls in past 2 months. Requested each time to be removed from their calling list, but request not implimented. Phone number recorded on our phone is: 425-873-2847; same number recorded on our phone with each call. Typed below and above 4 dates, but also call on 7/15/2013 at 7:22PM. Previous dates into June, but no longer kept on home phone record system. We have never ordered this personal security device nor has any of our relatives or acquaintances ordered it for us. We have stated clearly on each call to (1)delete us from their call list and that (2)we did not order this product and that 3)we did not want this product shipped to us under any circumstance. I also stated in the 7/29/13 call that I was now contacting the FCC regarding these unsolicited calls.
Call was from a "gentleman" (familiar voice) saying he wanted to deliver a MedAlert system which someone had bought for me, completely paid for. He commented this mystery person must have been concerned that I might fall or had fallen and needed a way to call for help easily. I'm not aware of anyone that "close" to me who would think I needed such a system. I asked if there were monthly charges, but he continued the spiel, and at end he said to push 1 to arrange delivery, 2 to refuse, or 3 if already had such a unit/system. Then I knew the whole thing was a recording. Pretty sneaky I'd say!! I just hung up without pressing any buttons. The phone rang again from same number, but soon disconnected. I had actually talked live to one of these callers a while back, and though the equipment is "free," there's a $30 or such monthly service charge to keep the service active.
They call stating they need to set up delivery of and 'emergency' system similar to the "I have fallen and can't get up" devices. They read directly from a script, will not stop to let you talk, will talk over you, and do not respond when you state they have the wrong number, or that you are not interested. I have received a minimum of 3 calls from this company, but did not record when they came in.
recording states that a Medic Alert system was paid for in my name and they want to schedule a delivery date. No one purchased a Medic Alert system for me.
