Scam "returning call with info you asked for.."

The electronic robo call stated, "This is the return phone call that you requested about the back brace commercial [that] you saw on TV ..." THE ENTIRE STATEMENT IS FALSE! We never called anyone to elicit a return phone call about a supposed product. We never saw a commercial about a back brace on TV. So tired of these scams and annoyance!

This call is about some sort of back brace. It claims that I saw an ad for the brace on TV and somehow indicated that I wanted a call from them. Needless to say, I could have gone my whole life without getting a call from them.
This really hits yet another new level in terms of 1) being totally intrusive of my time, 2) trying to sell me something I have no interest in, 3) trying to make me believe that I was the one soliciting them to call me back about their product, 4) avoiding the Do Not Call laws.
Folks, I'm afraid that we're all going to be subject to ever-increasing volumes and cleverness in these pitches. Until we, as the victims of these sorts of unwanted incursions into our lives, develop a thick skin and not entertain these entreaties by even picking up the phone, this stuff will continue. Only when these companies discover that no one responds to them anymore (and of course that hits their bottom line) will they consider stopping this manner of "marketing".

It is absolutely inconceivable to me that the Government is unable and/or unwilling to chase down these intruders and stop these practices. Absent being able to do that, why have the Do Not Call list at all?
