At first, it seemed to be a human calling, but after the 'This is __(male)__ calling from the Police Action Fund. How are you doing today?', I asked a question, and there was no response, so I hung up. Further research online indicates that this was a robocall. I tried to call the number back but could only get a monotone female voice saying "Either all agents are busy, or you have called after regular business hours." This was on a Sunday afternoon. This is very likely a scam because I repeatedly receive a variety of calls, mostly from Virginia area codes, trying to sell something (extended auto warranty) or collect funds for something. The caller is invariably unwilling to provide a physical address, a local physical address (even when they claim that they operate nationwide), documents clarifying the situation, information about where they obtained my contact info (or state something erroneous or fraudulent such as "from the auto dealership"). I live in Arizona and only ever receive such calls from Virginia area codes. I have, however, lived in Virginia in the past.
